Contractions? FTM

Question

I dont really know what contractions or braxton hicks feel like. Im a FTM so nothing to compare. 
I have been having alot of pelvic/crotch pain and sometimes period like cramps. There were times my belly would get hard (but i couldnt figure out if it was the baby pushing out on my abdominal wall or real contractions?). Sometimes those “pushing out” movement is coupled with pelvic pain or cramps. I really just assumed those are baby moving. Are those actually contractions? I feel so dumb not knowing what contractions are! Uggh. 
Yesterday i had my 38w check and after the midwife checked my cervix, i started bleeding alot. I could feel it flowing out of vagina. She sent me to the hospital where i continued to bleed (i got discharged after 3hrs). While hooked on the monitors, i took a picture of this:

The nurse said one is for fetal monitor (part closer to me) and the other is for contraction.... they didnt explain really how to read this. Can anybody tell me if this shows contractions?

Toco on the monitor measures how strong they are, I've been having irregular contractions they go up to 80-100 braxton hicks are like 1-30s

The monitor does measure contractions, yes, but it also picks up baby movements. The contractions should be more bell shaped, and jagged shapes on the paper indicate baby movement. For reference, this is what it looked like when I was in labor. The top line is baby heartbeat, and bottom line is for contractions.

When I was in labor I was having contractions but my belly never once got hard. It didn’t even hurt. Even when I was 10cm, my contractions weren’t strong nor did my belly get hard so it depends on your body. Everyone is different.

There is an obvious difference in pain with real contractions.

They're probably braxton hicks
