What's a chemical pregnancy?

I've seen this a lot in Glow but don't know what it is?

It's when you get pregnant but the egg doesn't implant properly .. you get a positive pregnancy test n then start your period a few days later. You could easily pass it as a late period

I've had this happen twice, not sure why though. They say maybe chromosome abnormalities. I got a bfp roughly the day my period was due and then tested later that day cause I was anxious and it was fainter but I expected that, not concentrated urine. I had a few more then they didn't even really get lighter because they were already faint, they just went right to negative and a few days later I started bleeding. But it hasn't ever really "threw off" my cycle
