I had my anatomy scan on Monday and it didn’t turn out so well:( they are worried about the babies chin being so small. They called it micrognathia. They think he will need surgery when he is born or else he will be on feeding tubes and breathing tubes. I go in Tuesday to get a amniocentesis shot to see if it’s genetics or a birth defect. Which there is a risk for miscarriage but I guess the rates are now low. (Still scary at 20 weeks pregnant) Then I go to OHSU to see a specialist..:( I’m praying that it’s just still early in my pregnancy and baby is still growing and maybe his chin just isn’t done growing. I’m hoping this is all just a huge misunderstanding and that my baby just has a smaller chin than normal. Other than that I have a very active and healthy baby boy. Posting pictures of his ultrasounds in comments. If any other mommas have been through the similar situation please give me all the advise you can give! I’m so worried about my baby boy it’s hard to sleep and not be stressed till I see the doctor again Tuesday for the shot. :( thoughts and prayers are much appreciated🙏💙
