Have any of my fellow plus sized mommies gone into preterm labor possibly due to your weight?

Just wondering because my mom keeps making comments that I’ll most likely have my baby very early because of my weight. My doctor hasn’t said anything like this, and I haven’t asked either. I’m 34 weeks now and truly feel like my mom may be right. I feel like he’ll be here very soon.

I'm obese. Not even plus size. With my first I was just overweight, my doctor induced me 10 days early because of his size. With my second I was obese 315lbs and I went to 40+3 weeks before opting to have a csection before my OB went on vacation. I had also done a 6 stair hike holding my 4.5 year old because the fire alarm in my building had gone off. I'm still obese at 300lbs and I have a booked csection for August 28th when I'm 39+2 days pregnant.
Your mom is either just being concerned or a dick either way she needs to stop.

I was overweight when I got pregnant and gained about 25 pounds. My son old came 3 days before his due date. I was able to push him out in 3 pushes and I didn’t tear.

I am pretty tiny at 5'3 120lbs, and I had preterm labor with my first starting at 29 weeks (he was born at 37) and starting at 25 with my second (she was born at 32)
So I would say it doesnt have to do with weight

I’d tell mom to pipe down, if your dr isn’t concerned I wouldn’t be concerned

Your mom sounds passive aggressive like mine! I'm struggling to get the last TEN pounds off (literally, ten pounds to a normal BMI) and she is consistently making comments about it. 😑 If your doctor was concerned AT ALL they would definitely tell you.

I am plus size as well and never experienced pre-term labor nor was it ever mentioned as a concern. My first 2 kids arrived within a few days of my due dates. If you are very concerned, you can always talk to your doctor.
