Will me being a Vegan affect a pregnancy?

Question

I've been a vegan for 3 years now will I have to add meat into my diet while being pregnant? 
I know some ppl will comment but vegetarian is totally diff so don't tell me no dumb answers.....

I have been Vegan for about 8 years. I was pregnant with twins and still stayed vegan. I had no issues with my diet. My doctor was well educated on vegan diet and supported me

You would only need to change your diet if you are not getting enough go of the nutrients, calcium, protein, etc required to grow a happy healthy baby.  I have a few friends who were vegetarian and have families.  Discuss with a doctor to make sure that you are not currently experiencing any deficiencies that might prevent you from becoming pregnant. Good luck! Going from vegan to eating meat seems like a huge change, perhaps adding some dairy and eggs might be sufficient if you need more nutrients, calcium, protein and fats.

It can but as long as you are taking the proper vitamins to make up for missing nutrients from non vegan foods then you should be fine.

Only way to tell is blood test. Check iron, b12, folate etc. If you're low you can remain vegan, bit you'll probably need the help of a good nutritionist. I was vegetarian for 3 years but I have Achalasia and have needed to go back to meat to meet my needs.

Youll have to chat to your doctor. Mostly it will depend on your iron levels. There are supplements but drs often encourage red meat also.  But they can't force you.

I had a coach that was vegetarian and during her pregnancy her doctors had her eat meat. It was a difficult pregnancy and they made that decision for the health of the baby. I would guess it would depend on the pregnancy, just making sure the baby is getting everything it needs

You just need to do some independent research and talk to your docs about your concerns its really hard to tell you if it's ok or not because alot depends on how u gain weight and get your calorie intake  tofu has alot of protein
