Question

How many woman have bleed there first trimester and baby been okay? Anywhere from brown to dark red to brown red? TELL ME YOUR STORIES

I have had spotting on and off since I found out I was preggers at around 3 week. I had an ultrasound at 4 weeks and 5 weeks to rule out ectopic pregnancy because I had been having cramping and spotting. Turns out the bleeding was probably caused by cervical ectropian which is a side effect of taking birth control pills. My Swiss OB still seemed fairly negative about the pregnancy even after this diagnosis and it had me on edge.
 I then also had heavier bleeding at 6 weeks - about 3 tea spoons of dark red blood that had me terrified I was miscarrying. The bleeding stopped and I booked an ultrasound for the following week when I was back in the UK visiting my parents. Baby was okay, measuring slightly behind, and his heartbeat was visualised. However I found out that I had a subchorionic hematoma which explained the heavier bleeding and put me at an increased chance of miscarriage due to the size - so I put myself on self imposed bed and pelvic rest for another week (I had been taking it fairly easy since the bleeding the week before). 
Had another ultrasound with my Swiss OB again at 8 weeks and baby had caught up to original due date based on LMP and we heard the heartbeat that time - strong little heartbeat and my previously negative OB who kept warning me to expect a miscarriage seemed a lot more upbeat about the pregnancy. The subchorionic bleed seemed to have reduced dramatically and she did not seem worried about it at all. She also said it was a great sign that my breasts had gone up three cup sizes and my nausea was getting worse - she said it was a sign that the pregnancy was progressing as it should.

This is where I am now. At 9 weeks I am still just trying to live through this pregnancy one day at a time, but now when I have spotting, I try not to panic because I know the two possible causes: either my SCH is purging out or my cervical ectropian got irritated by my hubby's oversized penis 😑.
I think a lot of women on these forums are very quick to switch to alarmist mode at the first sign of blood during pregnancy - but remember that everyone's body is different and that you will often hear more horror stories on here than positive ones. Just take it one day at a time and keep in contact with your OB/GYN to get ultrasounds to rule out anything worrying. It will give you peace of mind - I don't suggest going to the ER unless the bleeding is severe as they can also be equally alarmist and they aren't experts, so they will very quickly slap the miscarriage label on a pregnancy. I had some early on(Brown-then red,once then brown for another day, when I was supposed to be getting my period and a week later(light pink) I have not had them since then and I’m now 12 weeks along and baby is doing fine. I did find out at my NT scan that I have a uterine fibroid so that could have caused it. (Still need to discuss with my OB, the lab technician was the one that noticed the fibroid) 
My recommendation is to call your OB and let her know your concerns. When I called mine at the time of the bleeding she recommended I wait a week and see what happens. It’s more concerning if it’s associated with severe cramps.

I've been spotting/bleeding on and off for weeks and baby is still growing. I'm 9 weeks now and go back the 29th to have my physical and another ultrasound. I have fluid/blood in my cervix, but they're not concerned since baby has continued to grow and has a strong heartbeat
