Austin was born on July 20th!
I was 36+5 when I had some pinkish discharge at 8am so I went to the hospital to make sure my water hadn't broken. At the hospital they confirmed it did not break but I was 2cm and 60% effaced and the doc said to be ready because I was having contractions but they sent me home. I started feeling contractions at 5pm that seemed pretty regular. They were mild but I timed them about 8-10 min apart. I just relaxed that night but the contractions started to get more uncomfortable. It was a sleepless night. Monday July 20th at 9am I went to my weekly doc appt and and they confirmed that I was 4cm and they sent me to the hospital. At 1pm I was admitted and contractions became more painful and closer together. I progressed fairly quick from that point. I labored and delivered without pain meds by choice. Things became much more intense once I reached 8cm. The doc broke my water at 9cm to get things moving and I delivered my baby boy at 8:08pm on July 20th. I did need an episiotomy because his heart rate was dropping during pushing and I did lose a lot of blood after delivery but he is so worth it! He was 3 weeks early but had no problems and is doing great!
