How soon do you take pregnancy test?

I am eager to try and take a home pregnancy test but I don't want to get discouraged by taking one and it being negative. When would be the best time to take one? After a missed period?

after missed af is always the best bet to avoid disappointment, but if you can't wait you can test with frer at 10 + dpo

Definitely after missed period. You will see a lot if women test way early on here. To me, if I test early then I'm just questioning whether or not it was too early so it doesn't give me any peace. The two week wait is awful no matter which way you do it

I usually take one a week after my missed period. That way I don't waste tests. I also am late most months. I was 17 days late last month and I took a test and was negative. I started on July 5th.
