Afterbirth?

Question

I know that many people can have different birth stories, but if there's enough time for the epidural will I feel the delivering of the placenta? Or will it just be numb from the epidural still? Same for stitches, if needed? Thanks im a first time Clueless mom🙈

If you have an epidural you probably won't feel either. They also use a local if you have an episiotomy. I have three children all with am epidural and didn't feel anything.

My epidural didn't work, but once you get that baby out, for me, anything they did I didn't even notice. I do know my doctor had his arm in about elbow deep after my baby was born, what he was looking for im not sure, but delivering the placenta was lost in the moment for me!

I had an epidural. It started to wear off when I started pushing. I felt every contraction but only felt pressure as she came out. I did feel the placenta as it came out and the stitches but I was so focused on my precious baby girl that it didn't really bother me.

I had a natural delivery without drugs. They used something for numbing for my stitches (I tore) and it wasn't too bad, especially after giving birth. As for delivering the placenta, I don't remember it hurting at all. By that time my baby was on my chest and she was all I could focus on.
