Is it embarrassing going to the beach with your family when everybody is going with their friends? (Description)

My family is a 6 member family and we will probably be making a lot of noise. Also I am probably going to see my crush there. I just couldn’t find any friends that are available to go with me. I would be more comfortable with a friend. I am 17 and that seems kind of embarrassing.

This is why I don’t miss high school! 😂 who cares who you know or see there. They are your family. I love going shopping and swimming with family! They are fun! One day you’ll look back and wish you weren’t so worried about what others think. It got in the way of me making good memories back in high school. Don’t make memories that other people will approve of, make the memories that YOU want to enjoy and remember some day. Don’t be so worried about other people. If your crush was the guy for you, he wouldn’t crack jokes because you love your family.

Oh my gosh, I'm sorry people on here are so rude and apparently had loads of confidence through highschool. My parents got a beach house for a week every summer and I vividly remember walking to get a frozen banana with my mom one evening. A crush I'd had since I was a CHILD yelled out to us. Their family was friends with mine. At the time I was mortified thinking it was so embarrassing to be with my mom. Looking back on it, it should have been no big deal! Everyone goes through times where they think their family is embarrassing. Never growing up did I ever think anyone else's family was embarrassing, nor did I think it was embarrassing to see a friend with their family. You'll be just fine. If you see your crush, confidently introduce them to everyone! If anyone does anything embarrassing, smile and shrug. .... ahh I wish I had know this as a teenager...

God, it's like no one here has been a teenager embarrassed of their parents before. Which sound very unlikely 🙄 No, it's not embarrassing but if you don't feel like going with them ask if it's okay for you to stay home. I will however say you might treasure family trips like these later in life even tough you might feel embarrassed now 😊

Your only 17 so I’m guessing you still revolve your life around friends. Which is ok, you will learn once your older. Just humble yourself a little because once your older you will understand that friends come and go, and only people in your life that have your back is family. When I was in high school, my crush absolutely adored my baby sister, and she'd always do embarrassing things like pretend to beat him up (he was a villain in a play). He thought she was cute because I was his crush as well, haha. We never did anything about it though. We were both too shy.  So, if your crush likes you, he likely won't think badly of your family.  Especially in high school.

Be grateful! I love going to the beach with my family! And I’m 24 now! With my 4th on the way! My family is huge! We go on picnics together too! You know they won’t be there forever! Love every bit of it

Truthfully, I wish my family Walpole have been able to do more things like this when I was younger. But both my parents worked or we didn’t have money do to it. Just enjoy the time you have with your family and have fun. Not everything has to be embarrassing. Try to find the fun in actually spending time with your family. You only live this life one time.
