How important is it to you to have your relationship status on Facebook?

I recently started seeing this guy & it has turned out to be a huge mistake. He's very insecure and very jealous. Anytime I leave the house to do anything he starts freaking out on me. One of his huge issues is having our relationship status on Facebook!!! He's 41 and I'm 35 & I really couldn't care less about my relationship status being on Facebook but it is to him. We got into a huge fight about it earlier and I'm just wondering if this really is a big deal. The way I look at it, I'm 35 and I don't need to broadcast it to the world that him and I are together.
