How to sleep train a 1 year old?

My son is 16 months, still needs a bottle to go to sleep whether it’s a nap or at night, and has to be held and sleep in bed with me.... how can i break this habit and get him to sleep in his crib?

Sadly we had to just cold turkey the bottle and put her in her crib. She would cry 10 minuets or so but it only lasted about a week.

To be honest my son just started sleeping by himself in his bed like two months ago maybe and he just turned two. 
We nursed for 15 months and for the longest time that’s the only way he would fall asleep, but you just gotta cut it out. The first week is the hardest but after that it gets easier.

If you haven’t already, establish a bedtime routine and follow it consistently for a week or more before you start the transition. Also might want to see if he’ll use a lovie or something that he can start to associate with comfort since he will be losing the bottle. We took my 15 mo old’s pacifier last month and he ended up clinging to one of my daughter’s stuffed dolls for bedtime. He used it at bedtime for almost a week before we took the pacifier.  It made the loss of his pacifier way easier to handle. 😄

Try to put him down very sleepy but awake.  When we transitioned my boy to his crib, it took 3 nights to complete but it was well worth it. We used a modified version of this,  shortened the check in times.
