My birth story with placenta accreta.
Hello ladies! My name is Patricia and I'm the creator of this group because I wanted other moms to know that you are not alone and everything will be okay. Here is my birth story. I found out about my placenta accreta when I was around 34 weeks I was told around 20 weeks that my placenta was blocking my cervix and even with sex I could bleed so i was told no sex. So around 34 weeks my doctor wanted to confirm it with a MRI and sure enough he told me I had what was called accreta my placenta was imbedded into my uterine wall, I had never heard about this before but with anyone unfamiliar it's when your previous c section scar attached to your placenta and can even grow into other organs causing more damage, I was so scared! He told me I would have to deliver at a more top notch hospital with doctors who are experienced with these kind of cases, only 1 in 10,000 woman get accreta, and of course i was that 1. So we made plans for me to have my baby in Austin tx at 36 weeks and 2 days, so me and my husband drove about 4 hours there and got admitted right away, it was a Monday and I was scheduled to have a c section and a historectomy for Friday morning, those were the hardest days ever just being in the hospital not being able to leave it was hard for me because I have a 8 year old son and a 1 year old little girl and it was so hard being away from them I cried every single day. So While I'm there doctors are coming into my room to meet me and go over the game plan for Friday, I can't even count how many doctors I've met all for my surgery. I was told there would be tons of doctors and nurses in the room when I delivered the baby, there was a chance that I could lose too much blood and I could die, but I had faith in god and whatever he decided would be okay with me even though in the back of my mind I wanted and needed to be here for my kids, I won't lie that was the most scariest thing to not know if your going to make it. So Friday morning comes and they roll me back into surgery all I remember is tons of doctors and nurses being around me, I was awake for the c section part so I got to see my son for about 5 seconds, then I was put under general anesthesia for my historectomy, I believe i was in surgery for about 3 hours long and I lost 5 liters of blood, my baby boy weighed 7lbs and 7oz thank god he didn't need any nicu time at all he was perfectly healthy! I was in the hospital for about 2 weeks recovering the pain was the worst part I had to get 35 staples. But I'm just glad that I survived and my baby survived and was healthy as can be I will be praying for all of you ladies who have previa or anything else like accreta or incretta. Here are some pictures of my baby boy Easton Noel born 7/13/18.
