I’m on 40th day of cycle, keep getting bfn, wtf?

I am considering testing again tomorrow but as of Saturday 8/18 (today is 8/21) I’ve gotten negatives. My cycles are irregular but average at 28 days, and 40 days out seems extreme. No sign of period, I hate to go to the doctor but will consider if I reach 60 days with no period. Anyone get positive this many days out after having multiple negatives?

I skipped a period almost exactly a year ago and never found out why. Could be stress and oddly enough I talked to a few women who’s cycles were totally off around the eclipse. I know, weird.

Thank you! Hubby and I have only been trying a couple months but I’m already exhausted from google searches and taking tests. The stress is not helping me, I know!
