My fiance is my best friend. But this post is about my dress. 50 years ago my grandma walked down the isle in a gorgeous lace wedding dress. 23 years later my mom wore it. The only alterations done on it was letting the sides out, as she was 4 months pregnant. Now, 27 years after that i get to wear it. We took it to a seamstress to update the look a little bit. My phone broke in the meantime so i dont have the pictures from the day it was taken out of the box before we altered it. And im trying to get the pictures from my grandmas and my moms weddings so ill put those up for comparison when soneone sends me them. But here it is as of today.

The neck line used to be a sweet heart cut. With lace going up to right below the neck. And it had full length lace sleeves.

The back was similar with (idk what its called) a trapazoid-y shape line and the lace going up higher.

The veil was taken from my mom's 80's (91' technically) style giant fluffy flower crown veil and updated into a simple little comb clip.

She took a little length off of the train to add length to thw bottom.

My mom borrowed a pearl necklace from her mom for her wedding. So she thought it would be neat if i borrowed my moms for my wedding. So thats the necklace ill be wearing.

Im 13 weeks pregnant so my new found cleavage pulled the back of the arms too tight. So now we have one more real final fitting next week. And next saturday is the big day!!

Something old: grandmas dress

Im told its in incredible shape for being 50 years old...lace yellows? Also in that day, it was REAL lace. And not cheap. Grandma got whatever she wanted. ;)
