Hi ladies I have a question how accurate is this test??

There are 3 main things a semen analysis test 
1- count
2- morphology
3- motility

This test only does 1- so if the motility is low- it doesn't matter of he has a lot- because they can't get to where they are.

My husbands first semen analysis was 39 mil (normal range)
85% normal morphology (excellent)
And 5% motility (horrible).

We have a >2% chance of conceiving ourselves.

I would recommend a normal semen analysis. Most insurances will cover it even if they don't cover fertility (they will do we diagnostic to deem infertility testing)

We did have to pay out of pocket to the hospital per their policy ($276)
And we were credited back $245 from them since insurance covered.

I highly recommend not using things like these. It's stressful if his count is good and you still can't get pregnant.

A marriage/relationship goes through the most stress I believe during this period of life.

I would wait and get tested by a doctor. That test doesn't test for sperm morphology, which is the shape. Good luck!

I made my husband use it!!! My doctor said it was pretty accurate! But she also said its function is to check if the sperm is there and if there is a normal amount. It doesn't tell you if the sperm are viable, healthy, deformed, etc.... My husband has always been concerned about sperm count and I think a lot of men are. He took the test and it came out STRONG positive. Still ttc and if we're still not pregnant in a few months, he's going to go to the clinic to get an In depth analysis.
I guy who works with me said his wife made him take the test and his was negative. He went to the doctor for them to run tests and it was true. His count was very low. He's currently on Clomid. Test was right!

So to the ladies whose hubby's are on Clomid is it just a numbers issue my DH came back with about 1/2 the value of ideal in most scenarios and didn't offer up anything except that IUI is in our future ... Is this something I should ask about?

It was not accurate for my husband. He took it and it said his sperm count was low, but when he got his sperm analysis done at our clinic it turned out that his count was fine.
