At our review appt our fertility specialist said i got 8 mature eggs but only 2 fertilised and 1 of those 2 was 'slow to fertilise' but now looks ok. The embryologist said if we do a fresh cycle again we should do icsi. He said that although the sperm and eggs look good separatly they dont seem to fertilise like you would expect. He said there are receptors on the egg and sperm that may mean they just dont fuse for whatever reason and hopefully icsi should overcome this. So baisically i think her means our egg and sperm arent compatibile?!! Has this happened to anyone else??
