Opinions please

I was taking progesterone for 3 months because I wasn't ovulating. This is the first month that I have been off the meds and TTC. I am 8 days late and I took a HPT on my 3rd day late and it was a BFN. Should I take another test or go back to the doctor since my cycle didn't stay right after stopping the meds?

If this is the wrong spot for my question, I'm sorry. I wasn't sure where to post it.
