Is this irresponsible parenting?

I’m going to start off by saying I don’t think it is irresponsible. My mind likely won’t change. But maybe it will. Here it goes:

My girl friends and I were at brunch this morning and they were asking me what my husband and I did for our anniversary. I told them we went to dinner and to this museum my husband wanted to go to. They asked who watched the kids and I said no one. They’d watched each other! Lol. My children are 14, 12, 8, and 6. My oldest is a very mature young lady. I more than trust her to hold down the fort and to call if something goes awry. We were only gone for four hours at most. I got them a pizza right before we left and had bought some marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers to make microwave s’mores. They rented a movie and had a nice time. They were flabbergasted that I left them alone and trusted them to use the microwave. Is this normal? Do people not let their kids do that? My 14 year old can cook full meals and knows kitchen safety. I personally don’t see the problem with this at all.
