Shot, pill, IUD???

I turn 18 next month and I’m trying to figure out which birth control I want to be on for the first time. I’ve read about the depo, and saw more negatives than positives, and then read about the pill, and it’s a good idea, but I personally don’t think trying to remember take something everyday at a specific time is right for me. That’s when I saw info about IUD’s. I’m going to college soon and don’t plan on starting a family for A VERY LONG TIME, so the length of time of how long an IUD works is very convincing. But I don’t know anyone really whose had an experience with an IUD. Is 18 maybe too young for that?
