Was she being genuine?
I posted this a few days ago and then noticed I forgot to blurr our names on one image so I quickly deleted it so sorry if it’s repetitive for you.
I posted in a Facebook group I belong to for local moms with young children. I posted about the eggs my family farm has for sale and this woman made a comment where I then offered her eggs for free. The conversation below speaks for itself. I did end up bringing her about 5 bags of groceries...enough for 7 meals, meat, fresh produce etc. My husband and I felt even if she was being dishonest asking for food is something we shouldn’t ignore in our community even if it wasn’t honest.
A question that came up when I first posted it was what was she like. Her house was very run down. No place I’d feel comfortable with 2 small children which is what she has according to her Facebook page. She was very poorly dressed but did not give me the impression she had any major addictions...totally judging a book by it’s cover but her skin was clear and she acted normal. She was awkward when I met her. Quiet and seemed a bit embarrassed but I did feel she’s done this before.
She also has on her Facebook that her occupation is “stay at home momma”.
So my question is. Do you think she was being genuine? Would you offer her further assistance? My husband suggested I check up on her and offer her and her children some clothing and such for back to school. But the whole asking for seasoning thing has got me feeling a bit scammed. What do you think?
