Tripled birth weight by 1?

Everything I read says babies should have tripled their birthweight by the time they turn 1 year. How accurate is this? Tell me about your babies!

My daughter was 8.3lbs at birth and is 26lbs now at 21 months.

My daughter was born at 6lbs 2oz. She’s currently 2.5 and only weighs 23lbs. She wasn’t tripped at a year old either.

Most people say babies should double their weight by 6 months and triple by 1 year, but that’s only if your baby is average size. My daughter is tiny and there’s no way she’ll double by age 1. The pediatrician said she’s more focused on my daughter maintaining her same “trend line” for percentile ranking instead of following the double/triple rule.
