When are birth control pills effective 100%?

I started birth control pills, I've never been on a BC pill before. I started it mid period. I have been moody and depressed and neauses here and there, i have to pee all the time and i get kinda dizzy here and there also. I had a sex a week after starting my pills, when are they fully effective?? I just want to know of theres a possibility of pregnancy...
