So I am 30 weeks and 1 day and active duty, I have to travel home to get a new license because they can't do it online due to me being gone and needing a new picture taken. I requested leave for 03 September to 09 September, and then requested a waiver for travel from my doctor (the military does not authorize me to fly after 28 weeks without a note from my OB). Both my leave and my travel waiver were approved so I booked my flight. Today I was just verifying all the details because I don't like to be unprepared. I got all my documents ready.. my leave paperwork, my travel waiver, my social security card, birth certificate, marriage license (I'm changing my last name so they need this at the Motor Vehicles), my medications, packing my travel bag, and lastly printing out my itinerary... Well when I printed out the flight I noticed they were the wrong dates. The agent booked them for 05 Sept until 12 sept. I didn't worry because I had bought trip insurance. I called my booking agent and said the dates were wrong. They said I could pay 300$ each way to change my ticket or call the airline and just cancel my flights and then file a claim with my insurance. So I called jet blue and they canceled what they could on their end and informed me that I had to finish everything with the agent. I was like cool, called the agent back and they said if I canceled that I would be charged an additional 150$ for cancelling and I would not be refunded.. I was like excuse the fuck out of me. Obviously started losing my tits and reminded them that their agent said I had to cancel in order to get a refund... I was then placed on hold for THIRTY minutes while they called jet blue trying to get the cancellation fee waived.. they got it waived thank God. So now I am not being refunded for my original flights and had to pay United airlines another 350$ for a new trip... Never been so frustrated. I am sad because this will be the first time I see my family in two years and had to use my spending money I saved for at home to buy a new damn ticket. Would you be upset too?
