EWCM other than when ovulating?

What does ewcm mean when you're not ovulating? I had a positive opk three weeks ago and now would be 10 days late (but this is only my second month tracking so I'm not sure exactly my cycle length) but no postive pregnancy test. I've had this type of cm quite a few days throughout my cycle and I don't know what that means! I am coming off of about a year on the depo provera shots so maybe my hormones are still just screwed up.
