What's your story?

Question

I love telling mine and my husbands story, but I bet we all have our own versions of our fairy tale.

I met my hubs freshman year of college and we instantly friend-zoned each other for a DECADE.  We were great friends and whenever we had romance issues, we'd drink in my driveway griping to each other until the sun came up.

He was always the first to wish me happy holidays and happy birthday every year, but we were just friends.

Then, two years ago I was living in Hawaii and he was deployed to Afghanistan. We reconnected and sparks flew online.  We fell head over heels for each other after a month of talking and realizations that we always had deeper feelings for each other.

A few months later I was moving to NC to greet him after his deployment, 2 months later we were engaged, 2 months after that we were married.

Once you know, you know, and everything just...works.

It's so easy that we can't believe it took us a decade of terrible relationships, one toxic marriage, and avoiding emotions between each other for 10 years.

I met my husband online and hated him from the start. But he kept talking to me and trying to get to know me so I played along. Then one night I found myself in a bad situation (too long of a story but my friends bf became very violent towards us) I didn't know what to do and just started texting (my now husband) to try and keep my calm. Anyway we had never met face to face and had only been talking for a short while but he asked me where I was and offered to pay for a cab to take me home (he didn't have a car or he would have picked me up)  after that I realized he wasn't such a bad guy and asked to meet him. And we have been inseparable since.

We were at my brother's house for a poker game.. he was a friend of my brother's best friend. After a while, whisky shots come out and a few people got sloppy. A fight broke out between two girls and one of them called the police.. we we're pretty much sober and didn't feel comfortable gambling illegally with the police on the way. He and I locked eyes and in sync we said, "Let's get the hell out of here." We ended up playing in the cemetery and swimming in the reservoir until after the sun came up. I knew instantly.. we went back to my brother's house and went our separate ways for 6 months. He quit showing up to poker. One day, I get a random phone call from him asking to take me on a date. I was mad because he just up and vanished without saying a word.. until he explained that he was his grandparents caregiver and they had both passed. We've been together ever since.

Mines a little silly sounding to me but here it goes.
He was one of my employees brothers so i knew him slightly from work.  One night i went out to meet a friend and ran into him at the bar.  He was, well...... Sloppy drunk at that point.  (I got off work at 1am so not like evening drunk) I don't actually drink and at the end of the night i offered to drive him home to avoid an accident.  I drove him home, and helped him get upstairs.  He tried to make a move, but i turned him down (mostly because he was so hammered....and i don't do it that fast lol).  Even wasted he was super respectful about that and asked if i would just stay and hang out awhile.  I ended up staying all night and talking to him even though i thought he wouldn't remember a thing and i went home when he fell asleep.
I actually woke up to a text the next day telling me he had a blast, but would love to actually hang out sober.  We started hanging out a lot and he was the nicest and most respectful guy I'd ever met.  We've been basically inseparable since then. 
That night was really the first one i noticed him, other than an "oh your brother is cute" to my employee lol.  His version is a bit different.  He eventually told me he wanted to get to know me from first sight but was shy.   He kept trying to have his sister get me to hang out so he could get too know me and all this stuff.  He was actually really upset the first time we manage to hang out he was drinking because it messed up his whole romantic date getting plan!

We met the summer before senior year of high school at work. I could tell he was interested, but I wasn't. He asked my to homecoming and prom that year, and I declined. He got into a relationship and we still kept in contact because we were close friends. He and his gf broke up and he finally told me he had feelings and I unfortunately did not return them at the time. End of first semester freshman year of college I started to wonder if feelings had developed, but I kept them to myself because I was afraid they weren't there enough. New Years Eve I decided it was time to see where it would go. He was taking another girl to a party who liked him. I hurried and told him I thought I was getting feelings so he took me instead. We've been together since that night. After typing this I can't believe he stayed after all that rejection 😔

We met almost 5 years ago. One of my friends wanted a ride to go meet up with a guy she had been talking to. I was dealing with a break up at that point and time so I took her to try and get out of my own head. I ended up finding out more things the ex had done right before we broke up and I ended up in tears in my car. I saw someone walking up the road so I stopped crying and started to clean myself up. The guy ended up going into the same house I had been in. I walked back in and we locked eyes and couldn't stop looking at each other. He ended up getting my phone number. My friend and I had to run to the store and when we got back he was waiting outside for me. We ended up staying outside talking for a few hours. I could tell he was interested so I explained my situation and told him that I thought he was a really good guy and I didn't want him to be my rebound. He just looked me in the eyes with a smile and told me he wouldn't be a rebound. 4 days later we got engaged, 1 month after meeting we find out we were expecting and 4 months after meeting we got married. We are still together, going strong and I wouldn't change anything :)
