What should I expect?

What should I expect and be prepared gor at my first baby appointment? I just found out last week I'm pregnant, and I called the  my OBGYN office and they said my first check up wont be until about 8 to 12 weeks. So thats a month away. So I was just wondering what I should be prepared for.

I had a vaginal ultrasound and they did a pap smear they also checked to see if they can hear the heart beat but alot of the time it's to soon to hear. its really so exciting when you get to have that first appointment.

I got an ultrasound at 7w5days and heard the heart beat. He gave me a packet of information on support groups, what to eat, what not to do etc. We chatted for a while, asked if I had any questions and then you make your appointment for next month (;

I got a blood test to confirm and a vaginal ultrasound. Not everyone gets an ultrasound that early. It depends on your doctor. I got one because I am high risk for tubals. Then my doctor went over good prenatals with me in case I wasn't already taking them. Then we scheduled my next appointment.
