Who throws a baby shower?

Are you all throwing your own baby shower or is someone else throwing one for you? I don’t know what the proper etiquette is for this. All of our family lives far away so I’m assuming they won’t throw one. I want to have one but don’t want to be rude by throwing myself one or asking someone else to do it...

If you have family or a close friend local, it’s more traditional that they throw one for you. But if you’re like me and have neither available, you’ll likely end up organizing it yourself and there’s nothing wrong with that. A lot of women do it to get the things they want out of it, detail wise.

You could organize one for your self! I find it easier to do it myself. I have out of town family member that will send gift by mail. I will open those live on skype so they can be a part of the baby shower as well!

My mom and sister are hosting one for me in my hometown in Michigan for all my relatives, in-laws, and a few childhood friends that still live in the area. We are hosting our own “Sip and See” in Chicago after the baby’s christening. We might host a pre-baby “New Year, New Baby” cocktail party too.

My mom and aunt are throwing me one in my hometown for family and friends there and then my bf and I are doing one at our house for family and friends around where we live (2 hours away from hometown). My coworker is throwing me one at work.

Usually it’s someone else, but in your case I don’t think it would be weird for you to throw something. My favorite baby shower I ever went to was a bunch of us going out to dinner together to celebrate! We all bought her gifts, but it was way better than sitting in someone’s house playing silly games

Theres no right or wrong. My sister, mom, sil & mil all worked together but honestly would have rather just done it myself bc they were all bickering & asking me a bunch of questions & it was exhausting

My parents are throwing one and my husbands dad and step mom are throwing one and his mother is throwing another one. I guess it just depends! If you want to throw one then throw one!
