C-section Mommies, Question about recent C-section???

How long after your csection did they let you up out of bed . What happened when you went in for your csection . Stories please , I am so nervous ! Thank you

I got up the next morning, since it took awhile for the epi to wear off. Mine wasn't planned it was last minute after my cervix swelling. So they shaved my bikini line and then wheeled me into the Or. Hubby came in after they had already started cutting. I was puking during the procedure and I could feel them stitching me up

And as for what happens; this is my personal story.

I went in super early, they had me undress into a hospital gown, checked vitals, put in an IV and hooked up my belly to monitor baby. I just basically waited until my doctor came in.

Then they wheeled me back to the OR, had me sit on the operating table and hunch over slightly while holding a pillow, so that they could insert the spinal. After, they had me quickly lay down and started strapping me to the table, all the while my lower body got numb.

Let them know if you panic, I have panic disorder and it feels like pressure on your chest from the numbing, you're okay but it can feel scary, definitely communicate and they'll help you feel better.

After that your husband/mom/support can come in and sit with you. it's just a lot of pulling pressure and suction sounds. If you have a good dr and staff they'll chat you up and make you feel better.

My doctor lowered the curtain and let me watch as they pulled my baby out, which was my request, if you're not okay with that they won't do it. The swaddled him and let him stay near my face for a few minutes and then took him to be checked, and usually they take husband with the baby at that point.

It takes a good while to stitch you back up and then it's back to recovery where your baby will join you. I usually wait an hour and then I go to my room where I stay for the rest of my stay.

I was gotten up 2 hrs after surgery and every 2 hrs to walk for the first 24 hrs with all 4 of my csections

I was allowed out of bed the day after. I woke up in labor and baby was breech so I had to get an emergency c-section. I went to the hospital, they sent me for an ultrasound since I was 5cm dialated and wanted to make sure I couldn't give birth naturally, then sent me to wait for surgery. My doctor had to come to the hospital. It took 2 hours to get everything ready. They gave me a spinal shot which hurt a little, laid me on the table, cut me open, and baby was out in 20 minutes! She cried and so did I lol. All together, it was nerve racking, but glad everything turned out okay!

I was totally rushed through mine and it got scary for me. I asked t nurse to give me a hug while they did the spinal thing. I did start panicking with the numbness feeling BUT it goes SOO fast that as soon as you hear that baby crying you don't give a shit about anything. Why do you have to have a c -section?

With both of mine they told me I could get up when I felt like I was ready. I was afraid I'd fall with my first so I waited til the next day but with my second I was up the same day. It is painful but the quicker you get up and start walking the quicker you'll recover. Not saying to walk quickly lol but just get up as soon as you feel ready. I would only be up a few minutes at a time but it helped a lot. And I'll be having my third csectionin December!

Hey girl, I had to have a last minute section after 23 hours of labor. You don't feel a thing, except the release of all the pressure from the baby. My MIL had two csections and gave me the best advice. She said don't sit around, get up and walk. She said that it definitely helps the recovery. Obviously follow doctors orders, but recovery is all in the mind. I didn't even take any pain medicines and I was fine. You will do great, the whole day will go by fast and next thing you know you'll be home with your new bundle of joy! Also, you will cherish the first shower after the surgery. 😉

I'm scheduled for my C-Section on Friday 8/14/15 because my baby is on breech position which means her bottom down. I heard is more difficult to lose the extra pounds and the healing is more painful than natural birth. But its not my choice, my baby is very comfortable with her head up 😅 wish me luck... She's my first baby!!!

I was to walking 6 hours after my c-section. I've had abdominal surgery before so I don't know if that helped me recover as I knew how to manage things a bit better. As soon as I got feeling back in my legs I had a shower.

I had been in labor all day and dr said its not happening. prepped me for c-section. the meds make you feel cold so I was shivering. they strapped my arms down out like a T. and they put this sort of tent over my arms and chest blowing warm air on me. they set up the tent around my belly area. anesthesiologist gave me more meds and dr started cutting. I didn't feel anything. baby came and was so beautiful. I cried and was so happy. after that it's a little blurry. hubby says I kinda winced when she started sewing so they gave me more meds and then I was good. I vaguely remember them moving me to a bed and then nothing til I woke up. easy peasy.. :) I can't remember for sure how long it was before they made me get up, but it wasn't too bad. the worst thing is when the nurse presses on your belly to help your uterus go down. nobody warned me about that!!! it was horrible.
