9lbs + meconium aspiration

Mr

Birth story! Yay! Lol

This is my second baby, due August 31st, was born August 26th.

On Saturday the 25th my husband and I were recording our weekly podcast with our friend as a guest. Just as we were done recording I felt the first contraction.. I was like "whoaa okay". So we're talking and such after the show and hanging out, eating some pizza when bam... Another one... I tell my husband I think I'm having legit contractions, they are like the ones I remember with my first. We talk more and these contractions were coming on at around 10 minutes apart. I started counting them at 10:30pm on Saturday.

Our friend leaves and these contractions are causing me to poop like crazy, I'm constantly going on the toilet. Contractions still coming on, lasting a minute but still about 9 minutes apart. I breathe through them. 12am comes along and I call my parents to pick up my daughter, they live an hour away so I had to make sure it was the real deal.

3am rolls around and contractions are about 5-6 minutes apart, I beg my husband to take me in (he wanted to stay home as long as possible) Well we go in and I'm 5-6cm dilated and contractions are coming every 2-3 minutes. Nurses are struggling to get an IV in bc my veins are like that 😐 At that point I ask for an epidural because I'm approaching the transition stage. Finally get the damn IV in after calling multiple people to try and I get my epidural. I go in and out of sleep and my water breaks, things become more intense.

I'm ready to push about an hour after my water breaks. I push for 8ish minutes, apparently only half my son's body was out of me when I made a huge noise of relief, which my husband found funny and started laughing. "He's only half way out!" Well once he's out the doctor cuts the cord and he says "he passed stool in the womb, sorry Dad I have to take it from here" of course after hearing that I say "oh my God that's not good!!!" and my doctor tells me it's okay, relax, etc. At it was, thankfully. But now it's a huge joke to my husband that he pooped in me 😐

No tearing, a big ol 9lb and 21in baby. Labor overall was not that bad this time around, but seriously never doing it again
