I think there is so much to consider when getting married. You have to understand that it’s not the fact that someone may be unemployed at the time, but have to look at their work ethic and how they would be willing to contribute wether that be financially,emotionally, etc.

It being a temporary thing is the key. You don’t leave because he lost his job. Stick by his side. Encourage him. 
....Now if this is an ongoing issue and his work ethic just plain SUCKS and he can’t be depended on or hold a job. Ummmm NO!

I was pretty clear about this when my then boyfriend lost his job, he either got a new job or I’m out. Now he’s my husband I would stay with him if he lost his job. He’s worked for the same company for 9 years, so I guess it worked😅😅😅

My brother-in-law hasn’t had a job in a decade and is twice divorced. Not having a job, at least for a remotely extended period of time is not acceptable. There’s plenty of jobs, you can’t be too picky if you need money.

If my fiancé lost his job of course I’d stay with him. BUT he’s not going to just stay home and be a stay at home husband (sorry but I want a partner with a career and ambition to always move forward with continuing education, etc). My fiancé would be out pounding the pavement looking for work. Being out of work temporarily isn’t an issue for me because that happens in life. 
But, I couldn’t marry a man that never worked or had a job. Bills need to be paid and we need to build a life together. That won’t happen if I married a man who couldn’t pull his weight in our marriage and family.

Honestly it depends. With my ex he didn’t have a job & like he got them & kept losing them it’s like he was irresponsible it’s a real turn off.

Hell no! a man that doesn’t work can not provide. If you marry him guess who’s going to get stuck paying the bills. If a mans completely healthy there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be working.
