Upset by Mother In Laws reaction to our fab news!!!

Need to vent!!!!! 

So we have been married 5 years, together 10 years and have just skyped his parents to tell them we are expecting our first child. We are thrilled to bits.

His Dad looked a bit emotional but couldn't get a word in as his mother, who was totally underwhelmed by the news said "oh so you have slept together at least once then" OMG!!! We didn't say anything, I am just insulted and hurt at her reaction. We have always got on well.

We are living overseas right now and due to return in 2015 with our new born as my work contract will have ended though they don't know this as they didn't ask.

We offered to pay for them to come see the new baby when he/she is born and his mum said 'we might'... They are retired and we are paying for their flights, I just don't get what there is to consider..

Anyhow just feeling disappointed as I was so excited to tell them and now I wish we hadn't bothered ????
