Does it matter who's the bread winner?

I make more than my hubby but I think he could do more. What do you all think?

I make almost triple my husband salary but that doesn't mean anything. I still love him and we still share household and children responsibilities equally.

Honestly I can tell you it shouldn't matter as long as the bills are paid. Whether you make more or he does, neither one of you should have to feel less of a part of the marriage simply because of different income levels. This is one thing I see a lot of with my patients, do not make your husband feel emasculated because you make more. Appreciate that he's there. You are a family, a unit, you work as one. There is no competition in marriage or relationships.

I make almost double what my husband does, but I'm in sales and can control my income w what I bring in. His base is higher than mine but my commission just blows his $$ away. We don't mind and we evenly split bills, and he gets a surprise gift/vaca now and then :)

My boyfriend is being very supportive and pushing me to take this new job opportunity where I'll be making more than 3 times his pay. I thought his ego would be hurt, but he's very excited for me and hoping things work out for me and this opportunity. So no, it doesn't matter. As long as there's money coming in.

Early in our relationship he was upset that I made more. But now that we pay bills together, neither one of us care who makes more. Just as long as bills are paid. With men that think they need to make more it's a pride thing. Well usually.
