Excess amniotic fluid?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Medical term is polyhydramnios.

I had this in my last pregnancy, it wasn’t that bad and I ended up going to 38 weeks before they induced me. It did stretch my uterus out so much that it didn’t contract properly after delivery and I had a hemorrhage and ended up with blood transfusions.

Went to the dr. On Monday and they told me I have this. I’m on a super strict diet and have to go back next Wed. To get measured again. If it doesn’t lower I’ll have to go every week to get checked out, take another glucose test which I passed the 1st one with my regular OB.

I have a friend that had this and she actually had some amniotic fluid drained (like a liter or two).  I didn't know they could do that,  but she had it done once or twice and birthed a perfectly healthy baby girl.  I know in the end she was measuring 48 weeks pregnant or something and was induced, but everything was okay.  Hope that helps a little.

I work with a girl that had this. I think she said they typically induce with it and try to get baby out quickly due to risk of too much pressure on the cord...?
