Is it bad to tell?

Hi everyone I just found out yesterday I'm about 4 weeks pregnant and I was wondering if people still wait about telling family members? I'm having a hard time keeping the secret

Lauren, don't worry about a "bad" choice - just make one that makes sense for you! I personally will err on later side of sharing with most people (12-14 weeks) and am choosing carefully who I tell early (5-8 weeks) - essentially, my core support team beyond my husband. I picked my mom, a close friend, my counselor, and my pastor, all sworn to secrecy. I get to talk out everything I'm excited about with people I love, but they are also the small team of people I would want supporting me through a miscarriage if one occurred. I'm a pretty private person by nature, so your boundaries could be different. Good luck!

We told family right away and being in a small town eventually everyone found out. We ended up having a miscarriage and I was glad to have all of the love and support. So when I got pregnant again I thought I would want to wait, but that didn't happen either. Oh well, no regrets.

I told people around 5. If someone God forbid would happen, you'd want support. Plus if you're sick it's hard to hide. Congrats!!

This is happening to you so do what works for you. I told my family and friends right away and I am glad I did because I had complications and was put on bed rest. I needed the support and comfort of my loved ones.

I got my bfp on a Wednesday at 3weeks and 1day. I initially wanted to wait, but my SO was far too excited and told his parents that Saturday. I ended up telling my mom the week after. Everyone else, I waited until my first ultrasound at 6weeks 3days.

The first time i was pregnant we told several people at like 5 weeks. Then we had miscairrage a few days later. It made it so much harder to have to tell everyone else. Now I am waiting at least till 6 wks US or whenever they see heartbeat to tell closest people. Will wait till after 12 to tell more. It Is very hard to wait though

It all depends on what u feel comfortable with. 1st pregnancy I told as soon as I tested + (6-7 weeks) and by the 8th month I got a lot of ( oh, u didn't have the baby yet, u have been pregnant for ever) which was annoying specially when I became overdue. I would also get lotta staring at my belly and comments on what it looks and how I should sit, eat, etc. I am not eager for that kind of attention this time. I figured If I have to take this, I am gonna have it at least shorter.
