What kind of birth control for a college student?

Y’all, I’m not planning on being active right away in college (since I’m in a long distance relationship), but since we’ll be alone with no parents around, I want to be ready just in case. 
Also, fuck my period 😩 I want it gone! 
What do you think is best for a busy full-time student with a job? (No surgeries because my college insurance is going to pay for it).

I would go to your student health center and make an appointment with the school gyno and ask for pamphlets about different kinds. It all depends on your body and if you’re good at taking pills or not, etc.. I went on the patch as a freshman and it was free at the student center with my insurance, but I didn’t like that it was a sticker and I didn’t like how the hormones affected me emotionally. Then I tried paragaurd and that was terrible for me. Now I’m on Mirena and I have PCOS and I realized although I didn’t like all of the hormones of the patch, it helped with my cysts, so now when I can finally get into see my gyno in a few weeks, I’m probably going to try a pill even though I’m really bad at taking pills. Everybody’s bodies are different and different hormones or amount effect everyone differently, so I’d suggest researching several methods covered at your student center and choosing the one that seems like the best fit for you.

Don’t do the shot, unless it is your absolute last resort. Depo has way too many horrible side effects. 
Like weight gain, mood swings, & etc.

IUD or Implant. Pill requires you to take it at the same time every day which is hard if you’re busy. Shot can cause infertility issues

The implant!!! It’s so easy and I don’t get my period and so many times I actually forget it’s in!!! It stays there for three years also

I'm in a long distance relationship. I take the pill. I get my prescription from PRJKT RUBY, it's $60 for 3 months worth of pills delivered right to your door. You can look more into it if you want. I personally like the ease of pills. It's less scary to me than the other options.

Dont do the shot. It's horrible. I gained 60 pounds in 6 months. Migraines, mood swings but it did stop my period. Pills are ok if you can take them on time. I like the IUD. Through the student health center at my college they offered all birth control with a reduced rate. Mine was actually free. I've gotten the shot, pills and IUD there. All at separate times obviously.
