I got the nexplanon implant because my cousin recommended it to me. It works great and even though my boyfriend doesn’t pull out we haven’t ever had a scare or worry! But I’m planning on taking it out ASAP because my periods have gotten BAD. I bled a little at first and now it is constantly throughout the month. And I mean CONSTANTLY. I’ve only had about a week and a half the past 2.5 months where I haven’t been bleeding or spotting. I’ve ruined so many pairs of underwear... 😩 I’ve heard great things about the shot tho! 
But all in all, it depends on your body and you probably won’t know how well it’ll work until you get it. Good luck, girl!

Had mine for over 2.5 years and it's perfect. Never had an issue, complication or scare. It's extremely effective, failure rate is 0.05% (fewer than 1 out of 100 women each year). I actually don't have a period at all ever since I've gotten the implant.
