HCG Not Doubling?!

I’m currently overseas and found out I’m pregnant! My last period was July 11, but I only get 2-3 periods a year so my cycle and ovulation are quite unpredictable.

Went to doctor for ultrasound and he said the sac dates at 5w2d, but too early to see yolk sac or fetal pole. He ordered HCG test for the next day and two days later.

Just got my results and they were around 14,000 followed by around 23,000 48 hours later. That’s not doubled, and Google has a lot of confusing things to say about it.

Just looking for some insight to help pass the time until we do a follow up ultrasound in 10 days. Thanks ladies!
