FTM question: Backpack diaper bag or existing regular backpack?

Question

We have quite a few backpacks of different shapes and sizes. Is there a need to buy a specific diaper bag backpack? 
I was considering buying one but maybe I should just use one of the ones I have that has a lot of pockets? Is anyone using a regular backpack for one kid?

Reg backpack works! The only pro I saw with diaper backpack was the spots that hold bottles and some have insulated pockets. I dont usually take bottles day to day so I didnt have a need for that

I'm just going to use a regular backpack! I used several different bags with my daughter, none of which were actual diaper bags and they were all fine. One good thing if there aren't a lot of pockets in your backpack is to get a few small zippered pouches you can divide things into so that it's easier to find what you're looking for quickly. Like having one for extra clothes and one for meds/toiletry items, and one for diapers, etc.

I use a regular bag for my daughter. But I do like having some small pouches in it so I can organize the spare outfit separate from the diaper change supplies. Makes it easier to find what I need in a hurry

Depends on your regular backpack because any backpack works but a good backpack diaper bag will have convenient features and pockets you might like to help stay organized

I meant regular backpack. I purchased several backpack diaper bags and compared packing them with a regular backpack and my backpack is WAY more comfortable and packing it was comparable. Save the money and use a backpack you know and love.

I used a backpack diaper bag when my son was an infant,I never thought of using a regular back pack for some reason lol.
He is 4 and I started using a backpack when he was 3 . More room so he can bring toys and his iPad everywhere we go

If you already have a good backpack then I’d say just try using it at first. If you feel like you need more pockets or insulated pockets then get a diaper bag backpack later. Seems to me like a lot of regular backpacks have more space inside. I’m all about trying things first to figure out what will work for you!
