crushing as an adult story time (LONG)

I am 20 years old (almost 21)

Have been in a 3 year long relationship (ended a longggg time ago) and have never crushed on someone like I’m crushing on this dude. [only adding this to establish that I have experience and I shouldn’t be reacting this way]

I’m a third year law / criminology student and these are our interactions as follows:

I was searching for the lab for my ENSC course and read the course number as the room number 😑 I’m stumbling around the first floor realizing my mistakes and turning around when I bump into a very attractive blonde guy. He asks if I’m looking for the lab and I said “yeah I read the course number as the room number. I’m about to head up there.” And he says “Well let me accompany you there.” Turns oUT we have the same lecture and lab but I’ve never noticed him but he remembered me (?). Weird since I don’t talk during class and sit on the other side of the room but heyyyyy he’s cute so I’m going to put down my detective goggles.

Next interaction: he was staring the entire lab 👀 which sucked because i texted my friend and said “hey give me the balls to talk to this dude” and she sent me an actual picture of testicles...problem was i had my texts open on my laptop so everyone behind me had to see balls 😒

After the lab was over he waited behind for me to be leaving [like two people got in front of me and he literally walked slower and moved himself behind them to talk to me]. We started talking about random things and ended up discussing lifting [we are both weightlifters] annndddd macaroni on burgers...if you haven’t tried it you should. I had to go home so I said goodbye and he said he’d see me on Friday [our class is MWF lab is W]. A bitch has never been so excited for a damn class 😫

Class Time on Friday..I wake up earlier than usual and do my makeup 💅 I am looking like a DIME and a whole ass snack. But unfortunately I show up 30 mins early for all of my courses and he shows up maybe 5 mins before 😂 I’m having a conversation with a really nice war vet in my class who was in the military from 1998-2013. I know that’s not relevant to the story but I’m painting the scene.. plus war vet told me a bunch of dope stories about Korea, what it was like to be in the military during 9/11, and how GI Bills work. But while I’m having this conversation I notice he’s OPENLY STARING. After the class he waited behind AGAIN [okay I’m not a slow walker, I just sit in the front and have to put all my shit away]😂 and walked me to the gym while we talked about our class. He had to go to his car to grab his things but STILL WALKED ME TO THE OTHER FCKN SIDE OF CAMPUS.

In the gym: I’m playin it cool. He comes in about 15-20 mins after I’ve started, cause ya know...HE WALKED ME TO THE OTHER SIDE OF CAMPUS ‼️ and giirrrrlllssss I was KILLIN it. It was my leg day so he was able to see what the booty do 😋 I pretended I didn’t see him and just did my lift. I went from the upstairs gym to the downstairs and he “bumped” into me 👀 he said “oh hey are you already done?” I said “nah my lifting partner just got here, are you done?” And he looked at me funny....we had bumped into each other on the stairs and it was clear he was going upstairs. 😫 I was so flustered that I just said “hahahhaahhaah have a good lift” and practically trotted to the girls locker room. Met with my friend and we started to do her lift (she focuses more on cardio/abs than I do so I like lifting with her when I can) and he starts using the area next TO US!!! She said he was openly watching when I was on leg press (I was doing 220 cause I knew he was watching 😂😂) and then before he left he turned around on the track to wave and smile at me.

That was the last of our interactions but I’m READY FOR CLASS ON WEDNESDAY 😫 I’m sad the uni is closed Monday but I’m excited for what’s to come [if anything happens.]

I’ve never crushed on someone like I’m crushing on him. I can’t find him on any social medias and I even deleted my tinder already. I just keep reminding myself that: #1 I don’t know him, #2 he’s probably not interested and is just being friendly , and #3 I’m psyching myself out over nothing.

I’m debating if I want to ask for his number on Wednesday or Friday since he’s started all of our interactions - but I’m terrified of rejection. Especially since we have courses together.

What would you do? Do you think he could be interested?

Update a couple of weeks later:

He turned out to be 11 years older than me. He’s actually closer to my parents age than mine, but we get along so well. He’s my lab partner and we hang out a lot more often now but the age thing just keeps me from making a move. But those blue eyes 😫 he has started to call me adorable / say things I do are adorable. But I’m not sure if it’s like “Awh you helpless child in your 20s so adorable.” Or “adorable ;)”

Either way, I’m just going to see what happens. Go with the motion of the ocean 🦈 thank y’all for hearing me out.
