Is a 32DD basically the same size as a 34C?

Question

The VS girl measured me and said I was a 34C, and that's always been my bra size, but when another girl saw me in the dressing room with the bra on, she recommended a 32DD.

Sister sizes are VS way of getting you into the bras they have in stock. Their sizes are also inconsistent based on the style.
 Honestly, they rarely measure correctly, which had prompted me to research how to measure properly myself, and branch out to other intimates retailers.

They may be sister sizes, however, depending on your breast shape, the sister size may not fit. I cannot fit sister sizes, I’m Fuller in breast tissue on top than underboob lol.

I wear a 34DD. If I tried to wear a 32, it would be very tight around my back and ribs. If I tried to wear a C cup, my boobs would spill out over the top and sides. I know, I've tried. Same would happen with you with a C, and a 34 might not be tight enough around for you.

32DD sister sizes would be 34D, 36C 
34C sister size would be 32D, 36B

If you were wearing the 34c and the band was riding up in the back meaning the band was too big then a 32D be the logical step (same cup size as a 34c, but smaller band)
If you were wearing the 34c and the band fit but you were spilling out of the cups you would move to a 34d (same band but up one cup size)
If in the 34c the band was big AND the cup was small you would want to try at 32DD (basically that is down 1 band size and up 1 cup size compared to a 34c)

I’m a 30/32DD, but I used to be a 32D. When I was a 32D I was told all the time that my sister size was 34C and I could fit those bras. They never fit. Ever. The cups were always too small and the band too loose. Some people fit sister sizes, others do not. But I don’t think there is a sister size for a 32DD (at least one has never been recommended to me).
