Playpen or Bassinet??

What’s more practical for the period of time you have a baby in your room...playpen or bassinet?

Bassinet takes up less room but playpen has more utility long term. I'd say if you have the space go for the playpen

Pack and play with newborn sleeper attachment. They outgrown bassinets within a few months. Pack and plays last through their toddler years (you can remove napper/changer to make into a play pen).

I read somewhere that the small bassinets in play pens are not safe, although the 4moms one seems much bigger. We wanted a halo bassinet anyway for convenience. We will just get a separate playpen when he is older.

We got a playpen with a bassinet attachment. Not looking forward to the room it takes up bit honestly I can’t justify spending another $100 on something that we don’t plan on using for long

We’re doing a pack n play with bassinet insert. For one, the area in the bassinet part is the same as the playpen, just higher up. Bassinets are so small they outgrow them so fast. This way we can keep her in it longer

I have both a bassinet and a playpen with a bassinet. My LO hated the bassinet that attaches to the playpen. The bassinet on it's own is much easier to maneuver in the middle of the night as it's lighter and on wheels. It also takes up much less space.

I loved having my bassinet because it was at eye level so easy to check baby while still laying in bed
