I didn't even have an engagement ring. We didn't have rings until the week we got married and even then they were sterling silver bands from a local jeweler. It was 4 years before either of us got nicer rings.

I have been picky on jewelry so I didn't care one bit. When I met my now husband, neither one of us made a lot of money. I didn't see a point of he were to propose that my ring put us deeply in debt. All I told him was that I preferred a ring that didn't turn my finger green but that was it. I don't think the size or price of a ring represents the amount of love there is in a relationship. I love him so much.

My SO cares more than i do tbh i told him to pick out what he likes and thinks i would but he told me to pick what i've always wanted because i have to wear and he wants me to be happy with it. To an extent i'm a bit picky but all that matters is i'm getting married to my bestfriend and the love of my life

Got a cheap engagement ring I believe from the pawn shop nothing fancy and two years after we met we got married it was a mutual decision on the ring. Didn't want anything that could get snagged as I work in a warehouse

To a degree. I didn't need anything big or fancy, I have a very small simple ring.... but if he gave me a ring that was really not my style (I'm talking, it would have to be hideous) I'd question if he really knew me at all.

But I didn't care I was in love and wanted to marry him he asked again when he bought me my first ring over the 4 almost 5 years we've been together he had bought me more rings...
