Gums??

Question

Has anybody had gum issues yet? I’ll be 8 weeks tomorrow. I’ve had bleeding gums after brushing but also some tenderness and pain throughout the day. Wondering if anybody else has experienced this or if I should contact my dentist. Possibly another issue?

Being pregnant can wreak havoc on your teeth, if you already have issues, they can get worse. My gums bleed, too. Last time, my dentist had to keep an eye on them. I think you’re at a higher risk of gingivitis. It cleared up once I was nursing less frequently.

I had bleeding gums but, it’s stopped now.

You should definitely get into the dentist! Most likely nothing is wrong but it’s important to have a check up while preggo. I am 8 weeks and just visited mine. He said with all the hormones I’m probably experiencing “pregnancy gingivitis”. Overall your gums will be more sensitive and prone to issues.
