Ok so first off, I am so grateful to have the opportunity to grow a little human inside of my body. I’ve been blessed with a super easy pregnancy so far and have loved every second. That being said, I am now 23 weeks and for the last few weeks I’ve been feeling really sensitive to people’s comments about how much I’m growing. I’ve always been a pretty small person, so I know I’m just not used to seeing my body this way (even if I wouldn’t change the experience for the world). It still hurts my feelings the way people are telling me that I am bigger. For example:

I see my mom every few days and each time she says to me, “every time I see you you look bigger and bigger”. Now I love my mom and I know how excited she is for me to be pregnant, but the way she says it makes me feel like a cow!

Also my father in law joked that I’m losing my girlish figure. Like wtf??

Then tonight my uncle who I haven’t seen in a little while goes “woah your belly! At least it’s not your face too.”

I totally went to the bathroom and cried. Partially I’m sure due to pregnancy hormones but also because I’m already sort of struggling seeing my body change, and those comments don’t help. I also don’t think I’m too big for where I’m at in my pregnancy. I love my bump and love that my baby is growing but can people just stop with the comments! How about saying, “aw look at your cute pregnant belly!” or “wow you look great!” (Not that I need the praise but I would never tell someone that they look “big”.)

Wow sorry for the rant. I just needed to vent to people who might understand how I feel.
