Is it bad that I don’t want a baby shower for my 2nd pregnancy?

What’s your opinion? My reason is honestly that my parents have an unstable relationship and fight and my dad made a big scene on my first baby shower with baby #1. Second, my in laws. My father in law has been rude and mean to me in past and my MIL is such a judgmental and over possessive person... long story. But I don’t really want them to throw my baby shower and I’d rather say I don’t want one than to feel stressed about who I can and can’t invite or someone throwing a attitude tantrum. Plus I know the items that I want to buy myself. Some are pricey but very good quality and some are from small businesses that I want to support. I don’t know, any ideas or input ladies??

Most people don’t have a shower for their second unless it’s a “sprinkle” for a different gender 🤷🏼‍♀️

I totally agree with you, if you're uncomfortable with it don't do it. Your good friends/ family members are going to visit you once you give birth with gifts for baby etc anyways, so you'll get some useful stuff anyways. Don't bother and keep the cash you planned to spend on the BS for other essential things.

Tell them you don't need stuff since it's your second, but make a registry and encourage them to being gifts when they come visit baby for the first time. Everyone just wants to buy baby girl clothes anyway, so that's probably the majority of what you'd receive no matter what you put on the registry!

I’m not having one.  My work will probably give me a small one, but I live out of state from family and I really don’t need much for baby 2.
