Is it okay to let your cats have kittens once?

Question

I think I want to let my female and male cats have kittens in the future but i know you’re supposed to get them neutered and not let them have kittens. I’d keep two of the kittens and sell the rest once I’ve had them vaccinated. Do you think this would be okay or not?

dude there’s already so many accidental kittens in this world. just get them fixed. what’s the point of even doing it? if you want two new kittens, wait for kitten season and then adopt some from a shelter. 🙄

Can you afford all the medical care costs of a pregnant cat? That’s the first questions. So much can go wrong in a pregnancy, and just like in people cats so need medical care while pregnant. If you can’t afford regular ultrasounds/x-rays and wellness checks then do not even think about doing this. Not getting these checks is a great way to kill your cat (yes it can work out just fine, but it doesn’t always and if you’re properly prepared it’s much less likely). 
Second, leaving your cats in tact will increase the risk of testicular cancer, uterine cancer and development of various other medical issues. Life span also decreases in cats and dogs when left in tact. 
Third, do you realize how many unwanted cats there are out there? I am personally ok with breeding when done responsibly. That means having homes picked out BEFORE you breed the cats, ensuring there are no genetic abnormalities you need to worry about (that does require more expensive vet bills), making sure you’re not perpetuating certain characteristics that are detrimental to the health of the animal. Responsibly breeders are usually highly educated in genetics and biology or at the very least have done a lot of research and have a very close relationship with a vet. They take time to ensure healthy animals and to breed out certain characteristics that are unhealthy (such as the squished face). If you are unable to do that then please do not breed your animals. Get them fixed. Otherwise all you do is contribute to the overpopulation and health problems endemic that plagues our cat population. 
Fourth, are you prepared to deal with your female cat in heat every two-three weeks for a few years? Yes cats can get pregnant early on. But, that’s very dangerous for a young female. You need to wait until sexual and physical maturity which is about 4 years old. Cats start heat cycles around 8 months usually and believe me a cat in heat isn’t exactly pleasant. You’ll also need to keep both cats separate while the female is in heat to ensure she’s not going to get pregnant when she’s too young.
