Gaining too much weight?

Question

I'm 11 weeks + 4 days and I've gained 8 pounds - which seems likes SO MUCH.  Is that crazy?  I started out at a pretty low weight (5'3, 102).. And I just feel like my body is totally out of control :(

I was 100 lbs with my first and second... My doctor had me on a "gain as much weight as you can" diet! I gained 8lbs in a week... Your body is doing it because you need it

I think that as long as the weight gain pace evens out during your second and third trimester it's no big deal!

Kate, talk with your doc but you are probably right on track.  Considering you started so small it's important that you gain the right amount of weight! I'm on the other end of the spectrum and in my first pregnancy had a similar weight gain, th doc just "noticed" I had gained weight and left it alone.  Ask you doc about appropriate weight gain for your pregnancy.

I'm 10 weeks and had already gained about 20 lbs

Don't feel bad. I'm your same size I lost about 10 lbs but gained it back in about 4 weeks. I'm 12 weeks. Gaining is apart of pregnancy.

I don't think that's a problem. You'll make up for it in the second trimester!

I gained about 8lbs and my doctor didn't yell at me but he seemed disappointed and now I feel like a huge zero. 😔
