Multiples?

Question

How are the amount of babies decided? Mother? Father? Just by chance? 
My husband is a triplet, his mom is a triplet, her mom is a triplet. 
My dads a twin. 
I never paid attention in science class so I can’t remember what decides that 😂

I believe if I recall it’s the mothers side. But then again. I just had twins, I have zero twins on my side but my husband has 4 sets of twins on his side. I think mine was probably luck

It’s the mother’s side that determines multiples, and if you and your SO have a girl, your husband may pass it along to her as well. Your egg has to divide after a sperm meets it, or you have to drop multiple eggs that all get fertilized by sperm cells.
