Cramping/contractions after cervix check

So I know cramping/contractions can be normal after a cervix check but I'm wondering if this happened to you, how long did it last? Did they stop by the following day? I had a cervix check at 36 weeks and wasn't dialated at all and didn't have any cramping afterwards. Today at 37+5 I had a cervix check and am dialated 1/2 a centimeter and my doc could feel the babys head this time. That was this morning and all day I've had cramping and contractions (not super regular or consistent). Curious if they'll be gone by tomorrow.
